The M367 pill is a prescription medication combining hydrocodone bitartrate (10 mg) and acetaminophen (325 mg). Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid analgesic that binds to opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord, altering pain perception. Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic agent used to treat less severe pain.
Uses
The M367 pill is indicated for the relief of moderate to moderately severe pain. It is often prescribed following surgeries, injuries, or for chronic pain management.
Dosage
The typical adult dosage is one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours, equivalent to 60 mg of hydrocodone and 1,950 mg of acetaminophen. Exceeding the recommended dosage increases the risk of liver damage due to acetaminophen toxicity.
Precautions
- Dependency and Abuse: Hydrocodone carries a risk of addiction, abuse, and misuse, which can lead to overdose and death.
- Respiratory Depression: High doses may cause severe respiratory depression.
- Liver Damage: Acetaminophen overdose can result in serious liver injury.
Interactions: Avoid alcohol and other central nervous system depressants. Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking to prevent adverse interactions.
